Performing Cast Members
We are always on the look out for talented performers to take part in our productions. We are an amateur group, so you don't need any experience to audition and there is a role for everybody that has the passion and confidence to act, sing and/or dance on stage, however, you must be willing to put your all in to making the shows a success and committed to attend the rehearsals and performance dates. To be a Daventry Player, you must truly be a team player!
You can contribute by singing backing vocals in the chorus or performing a solo. This is true for both our larger productions like pantomimes and our smaller events such as Christmas shows. In our larger productions, including pantomimes, you have the opportunity to act, whether in a leading role or as part of the chorus - the parts are decided based on the audition process. Furthermore, in select shows, you may be able to participate in choreographed dances and display your dancing talent.
Backstage Crew
The roles of the backstage crew are just as important as the actors on stage (who also support with backstage activity) and there are a broad range of areas you can help with. Here are a few examples:

CREATIVE
Designing posters and flyers to promote the show, supporting with set design, backdrop painting, making props, costume design and make up.
TECHNICAL
Sound and lighting support
STAGE HANDS
Scene changeovers, curtains

FRONT OF HOUSE​
Checking in guests, selling refreshments, merchandise and raffle tickets, serving drinks and food.
